Belotero BalanceĀ®
HELPING YOU LIVE LIFE MORE BEAUTIFULLYHeadingBELOTERO BALANCEĀ® is a type of Dermal Filler or Soft Tissue Filler, specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. BELOTERO BALANCE Dermal Filler is made of a material called hyaluronic acid (or HA). HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, creating an immediately smoother texture. Dr. Quenby Erickson is a board-certified dermatologist and is regarded as a top provider of BELOTERO BALANCE in Chicago.
How does BELOTERO BALANCE work?
By adapting to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth for smooth and natural results. It is this unique property that makes BELOTERO BALANCE Dermal Filler strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth or the āparenthesisā), yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line).
This sophisticated dermal filler is created using Cohesive Polydensified MatrixĀ® (CPMĀ®) technology. This produces different densities of hyaluronic acid for a seamless and natural appearance next to untreated areas.
Am I a good candidate for BELOTERO BALANCE?
People who want to soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, most commonly in the lower half of the face. BELOTERO BALANCE is also great for those who want an improvement in the look of their skin, but are not yet ready for (or do not wish to have) a surgical cosmetic procedure. BELOTERO BALANCE is often used in conjunction with other techniques like laser resurfacing, medical-grade facials, or neuromodulators to complement and enhance those results.
What is the consultation like?
A consultation with Dr. Erickson is necessary before treatment. The doctor will examine your facial anatomy, review your medical history, and discuss your areas of concern. She will also go over the steps of the treatment process.
Are there any side-effects?
As previously mentioned, hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that occurs naturally in the body, so allergic reactions to synthetic medical-grade hyaluronic acid are rare. During their initial consultation, patients should mention any past experiences of irritation from cosmetic products or procedures, so Dr. Erickson can determine the safest treatment option for his or her needs.
Though less common, there is a chance of minor bruising associated with any injectable. To lessen your chances of bruising, we recommend discontinuing use of products like Aspirin, Blood-Thinners, Fish-Oils, Alcohol, Aleve, and any aspirin-based products like Alka Seltzer for 2 weeks prior to your procedure. We do not treat patients who are pregnant or nursing.
How much do BELOTERO BALANCE injections cost?
The cost of BELOTERO BALANCE injections varies and is determined by the amount of product needed to achieve your treatment goals. Dr. Erickson will create a customized plan during your consultation that will include price information.
What to Expect
During Treatment
First, the treatment area(s) will be cleansed, and a topical anesthetic will be applied. After 20-30 minutes, the topical anesthetic will be removed, and the skin will be cleansed with a surgical antiseptic.
Dr. Erickson will then perform your BELOTERO BALANCE injections. She will use either a cannula or fine gauge needles to administer your injections, depending on the artistic approach required to best address your cosmetic concerns.
After Treatment
Improvements can be expected immediately. Though there is no significant downtime or recovery time required following injections of BELOTERO BALANCE, Dr. Erickson will provide aftercare instructions that you must follow in order to minimize the potential for post-treatment swelling and to ensure an optimal outcome.
Results are known to last between three and four months. In some cases, an optional ātouch-upā treatment of a lesser volume of BELOTERO BALANCE may be suggested about two weeks after the first treatment for the best results.
